Hi,

I would like to know how to create a inventory forecasting as i dun wan to be out of stock.

I have data for the usage for the past Nov 09 to current Jul 10. I need to create a chart to see the up and down to the monthly usage VS my forecast.

Can anyone help.....???

In order to calculate the safety stock in units, you will need to have a future forecast in place as well as number of days or weeks you wish to hold as safety stock.

For example, let's say that the future month's forecast is 100 units, if you wanted to maintain a safety stock of 2 weeks, your safety stock in units would be 50.

Are you able to forecast future requirements and do you know how much safety stock (in terms of days or weeks) you want to hold?

Are you wanting a formula to calculate a future forecast based on historic sales?

Or do you want to know how much safety stock you need based on your ability to predict the demand?
