Good morning, I am trying to figure out a way to make an inventory tracking list where two separate workbooks interact with one another.
The situation has it where one master spreadsheet will have drop down options for the inventory status of that item. The user can then go ahead and change the drop down options to whatever is reflective of the situation. Additionally, this change on the master spreadsheet will want to be reflected on a change on a secondary inventory list which can be linked by specific part numbers that would help to connect the two workbooks.

I was thinking that I could just map the cells together, however, the two workbooks are not identically formatted so it doesn't seem to be a simple assigning of cells.
Is there a way to first find if a cell in a given column has been changed, then to find that row's specific part number, then use that part number to identify the row of interest in the separate workbook, then go ahead and change the inventory status in the separate workbook?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Hi, I know this is late, but did you ever figure anything like this out? I'm in your same shoes right now
