Is import HTML input form data to an excel sheet?

I am planning on making a web page with input forms (text boxes, drop down boxes, etc.) and when the user presses Submit, I want their input to go into an excel sheet...

I've searched the internet and I've found out about web queries, but they only seem to work with html tables.

Is there a way to accomplish this? Would I need javascript, php, etc?

I've read that you can import into an SQL database...can you do it into an excel sheet as well?
