I want to first ask a question of a user. Then link this message to a combo box, but the combo box would not even be visible until after the message box.

In other words

MsgBox ("Please Pick Your Entry From The List Provided", vbOKOnly)

Then the combo box will appear with the words in a drop down list:
One
Two
Three
etc

Thanks
Deb

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
Maybe:

ActiveSheet.Shapes("Drop Down 2").Visible = False
MsgBox "Please Pick Your Entry From The List Provided", vbOKOnly
ActiveSheet.Shapes("Drop Down 2").Visible = True
