Is there a way to reflect the sheet name in a cell by formula??

I have 50 sheets each named by customer id account number

is it possible to have a cell reflect the sheet name by a formula

eg cell a2 = sheet name ???

I dont want to have to manually type in the customers id number in cell a1 x 50 every time I do this work book..

Cheers,

Steve

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.

Here's one way. Note that the file must already be saved for this to work.

=RIGHT(CELL("filename",A1),LEN(CELL("filename",A1))-SEARCH("]",CELL("filename",A1)))

G'day lenze,

Nice thank you for the tip

The reason I wanted it in a cell is the sheet numbers are client numbers and I needed to fill the cells below a2 to a200 with client numbers and do the same on 50 other sheets.

So having it in a cell I could easily do it through the work book and then drag the cells and fill.
