Is there a limit to what CTRL-F can find? Newbie is confused..

I have always used CTRL F to find certain data in cells. I often copy and paste lengthy text into a cell, sometimes many sentences or paragraphs long.

Recently i have noticed that CTRL F will not find certain data if there are too many characters in that cell.

Thus, is there a character limit for CTRL F?

e.g. the below text is in a cell and if I do a CTRL F and look for ZAG, it finds it.
If I type one extra character anywhere in that text, CTRL F will no longer find ZAG.

Does that make sense? Is there a way around this (besides putting less characters in a cell)?

Using FMUSFGA.. To find any invoices that obligated large dollars.. Just had a play - looks like a 1024 character limit, which is also the limit for display in a cell - don't know if the two are connected.

Welcome to the board

Where are you looking? in the values or in the formulas? If you are looking in the formulas you have the limit of the maximum length of a formula, 8192 characters in xl2007 and 1024 in previous versions.
If you search the values you don't have to worry about those limits.
Check the option in the Find window.

Wow, you guys/gals are awesome! That's all I had to do.. in the Find options, change from Formula to Values.

Now everything changes!!! I feel a little dumb knowing it was that easy.
