Is there a way to auto sort data when it changes?

Hi all i have created the below Soccer table and all the data now fills in automatically from other places in the workbook as results are inputted.

My question now is, is there a way to get the table to automatically sort its self as the results are inputted so we have the team with the most points at the top and decending? from my reaserch everyone is mentioning Macro's but i have no idea about them. also would it be possible to have a secondary sort so te teams with the highere GD are on top when points are equal?


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you add the following code to ThisWorkBook (after pressing ATL + F11=opening VBA editor) your selection will autosort when changed.

The range I added to show you where the table is located, you could change this and the other 2 ranges to the range and sort columns as you wish

You do not have to use macro's. If you do not know how they work, better is to learn about them and use them when you are up to speed with them.

After you have pasted the code, then make sure the designmode is on (not sunken).
If you can't figure it out, just save the workbook, close VBA editor and then close excel. Once you open the workbook the macro will be enabled and the sorting will happens once the data changes in your table.

But the example Wigi pasted also works, if you can figure out, how it works.

hi, thanks for both responses but im affaid i dont understand the dutch version in terms of the formula.

when i try to run the VB version i get the error;

Runtime error "1004"
the sort referance is not valid. make sure its within the data you want to sort and the first sort box isnt the same or blank.


then when i click debug i get;

Your Excel application translates formulas automatically to English.
So no problem with Dutch over there.
