Is there a way to lock pie chart labels?

I'm using Excel 2002. I have a number of pie charts with a lot of information, so the charts get crowded. I spent a long time moving around the labels and leader lines so that everything is just right. When I try to update my values, however, the labels and lines go haywire and end up overlapping each other or moving off the screen (i.e. I believe they are returning to their original positions). Is there a way to lock the data labels in my charts so that when I update the values, the labels and leader lines will not move?
