Hi everyone,

We have a spreadsheet in work that all of our staff use. To limit the mistakes the staff can make (messing up the spreadsheet!) we have put in some safety measures. When it's opened it goes to full screen, loses the toolbars (to stop them cutting and pasting etc...!) but I need to do something else aswell.

Is it possible to have a macro run/message box when they try to close the workbook using the cross in the top left.

We don't want them to do this because next time they open excel it opens in full screen.

Any help will be appreciated!

Excel Facts

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
Private Sub Workbook_BeforeClose(Cancel As Boolean)
Cancel = True
End Sub

This macro will prevent it from closing permanently by using the close button on the upper right corner. You may have to disable this by going to VBE to close the workbook.
