Dear Mr. Excel:

I copied a table from a boilerplate Excel template and now I have some weird behavior.

When I click on the cell in the header, a pop-up that looks a lot like a Comment appears to the lower right of the lower right corner. There's no "Comment" indicator in the cell. It does not go away when I move my mouse, until I click on another cell.

I have tried "Clear Comments and Notes" but it does not clear this. (Clear All works, but I'd rather figure out a real fix than the nucular one, if possible).

Thanks,

rjb

If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
Perhaps the following will resolve your issue: click on that particular cell, click on Ribbon > Data > Data Validation > Data Validation. On Input Message tab click Clear All button & OK button.

Solution
Yes. That's exactly what that is. I should have known that - I've certainly put those in other peoples' spreadsheets over the years!

Thanks.
