Keyboard failure on cell input - urgent

I have done something, or I have picked up a virus.

I have no input from the keyboard into any cell on a spreadsheet. The original workbook had protection on but removing it made no difference.

I can type into the VBE and, as you can see, here as well BUT nothing goes into the cells of a worksheet unless it is pasted in.

A solution is urgently sought

Does this problem still occur when Macros have been disabled?

Yes, I have changed font, no change. I can not even move using arrow keys etc, all keyboard entry is disabled on the worksheet

Even a brand new workbook makes no difference

So, are the Macros disabled? If they are disabled and this still happens, I'm inclined to think virus. Perhaps someone who knows far more than I has another suggestions?

The keyboard does not work on a spreadsheet, with or without macros enabled, with or without protection - totally dead.

In VBE and Word (the only 2 I have checked) it is fine.

Are you able to test this file on another machine?

Regretably, it is not a file, it is Excel.
I am doing a second detect and repair exercise, if that fails an din the absence of alternatives U shall go for a full reinstall
