Know when cell contents change

I receive share market prices via a microwave decoder which feeds via DDE into an Excel spreadsheet.

What would be nice is if I could see the time of the update, so that I know whether a price is current or not. I thought that if I could get some code/function that tells me when the contents of the "price" cell changes, I could use an =IF in the cell next door to print the time.

Is this feasible? Any advice welcomed.

PS I am a bit of an idiot insofar as programming etc is concerned - have some knowledge, but no expert

Thanks

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
Thanks! That has definite potential, but it will take my slow little mind a while to work around. Much appreciated

Yes, I think the Chronometer one might work - problem is that the sheets seem to base themselves on a change in price - with share prices, a number of trades can take place at one price - you will not see the time change unless the price changes.

Will eyeball the Chrono.xls - looks like it may have the answer

Thanks a ton (tonne?) for the info
