Labeling Duplicate data in a column

Hi Masters!

Seeking your expertise to help me with this if i have, for example :

A
A
A
B
B
C
C
D
D
D

and I need the next to be labelled as their order from top to bottom like the image attached

Not sure if this is confusing but, please let me know.

If I use countif, it'll be

A 3

instead of

A 1
A 2
A 3
B 1
B 2

No it wont, you can see it working in my mini-sheet.
Try it. Make sure that you use the formula I gave (assuming the data is in columns A:B as shown in my sheet), not the one you think I gave. :)

Oh yes! Sorry! I didn't notice it was a mini-sheet. I got it now! and it's perfect!
