Large files after copying sheet

I have a spreadsheet that when I copy and move a worksheet to a new workbook and save it, it takes up a massive amount of storage (5MB when it should be no more than 100KB). I have removed all named ranges and links however it has no impact on the size. Anyone have any ideas what is driving this because there isn’t anything obvious.

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.

Try pressing Ctrl+End. If this takes you to a ridiculously high-numbered cell (say in the 65,999 range), go to the row below the last row in use, highlight from there down to the end, then delete all those rows. Do similarly for the columns. Now, save the file, then close it. It should now have a "normal size". Does this do it?
