last cell query

I have quite a large spreadsheet - This morning it was about 6,000 KB

I've deleted a few lines here and there and have ended up with the file being 10,000 KB (I honestly was expecting it to get smaller)

Anyway I've noticed that on a number of sheets when I goto last cell its taking me to the IV65536 cell, I'm pretty sure that this wasn't the case this morning.

Does anyone know if this will effect the file size, and also how to change the last-cell where-abouts to something that is a little more correct probably around AM6000??

Cheers

Pete

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Yes if the last cell is IV65536 it will increase the file size. Most times this is because either all cells have been given a format. Or if data was placed in the last cell and not deleted correctly. Also whenever you go in and delete rows/columns be sure to save so that the last cell gets reset by Excel.

Cheers texas,

Worked a treat. Didn't realise you had to save the workbook on that particular worksheet to re-build last cell.

Anyway the file's down to 4,500 KB's now

Again thanks very much.
