Is there any formula to find out last day of the month, for instance if the date is 8/14/2008 , the last day of Aug is 31.

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Hi

Assuming you have the Analysis Toolpak installed if on xl2003 or below then you can use:

=DAY(EOMONTH(A1,0))

where A1 holds your date

find the first day of the next month and subtract 1

With the Analysis Tookpak add-in:

=EOMONTH(TODAY(),0)

Without it:

=DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY())+1,1)-1

just substitute TODAY() for however you want to include your date value
