Last value in a cell & move data up if blank

Hi Guys,
I need a formula to get the last value in a cell and dont know where to start. I also need to move a lot of data up if the cell above is empty.
Any suggestion would be great.

What do you mean "last value in a cell"?
Do you actually mean "column" or "row" and not "cell"?
Perhaps an example would be helpful here in trying to ascertain what you are after.
