Hi all,
I have a long list of several thousand assets, and each will have a condition survey recorded periodically.
What i'm trying to figure out is a elegant way to flag up in an adjacent column which is the most recent survey for that specific asset.
I have attached a very simplified sheet, with some dummy data - for this simple example that would look like a flag in Col D , indicating which is the most recent record for "cat", "dog" & "fish"

many thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
How about
Excel Formula:
=IF(MAXIFS($C$2:$C$100,$A$2:$A$100,A2)=C2,"Latest","")

That's beautifully simple, elegant and efficient - many thanks.
I have overcomplicated / overthought the whole problem and missed the obvious...

Many many thanks.
