hi all,
I have trouble in the layout of pivot table. this is the display which i want as an end result, but i just cannot obtain this no matter how i permuate the fields in the layout.
(This is what i want)
Country|TelcoCom Rates| TelcoCom Rates| TelcoCom Rates| TelcoCom Rates|
Australia| M1 0.0123| Sb 0.213| page 0.2144| Stel 0.231
Britain| Sb 0.21451| M1 0.2441| page 0.2451| Stel 0.2511
China| M1 0.23451| Stel 0.241| page 0.251| Sb 0.261
Germany|page 0.257| Sb 0.26| Stel 0.287| M1 0.298
India| M1 0.261| Stel 0.264| Spage 0.264| Sb 0.284
Singapore| Stel 0.215| M1 0.245| page 0.2451| Sb 0.261
Thailand| Sb 0.2164| M1 0.2341| page 0.2491| Stel 0.2516
Vietnam| page 0.2123| Stel 0.2175| Sb 0.241| M1 0.2641
Where the different fields are Country, Telcocom and Rates. the rates are arranged in descending order from left to right (cheapest to expensive) with respect to the country on the leftmost column.
Please give me the advice that i badly needed. Really appreciate that.
Thanks, Dawn

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.

Hi Dawn and welcome to the board.

I think that in your case there is no need to use PivotTable. Pivot tables are for handling (summation, count, etc) large repeatible data, arranging them in table form. In your case you do not sum or count your data which is unique for all countries and categories.

This is my oppinion but maybe someone will think otherwise.

Any way what is the setup of your original data- of which you are trying to do a Pivot table?

the raw data is in this form:
Country | Rates | Telco
Australia| $XXX | Stel
Australia| $XXX | page
Australia| $XXX | M1
Australia| $XXX | Sb ... for all the Telco
then i would do a pivot table on this set of info...
Yeah i agree that Pivot table is not deem necc, but this is required of me to do it in my workplace to rank them acc so. I thot using the pivot table would shorten the time spent on this, else i will have to rank them using formulae.
Thanks for your help.
