Leaving out Select and Selection

My original code is working:

'Change Worksheet to Values
Sheets("BurnDown").Select
Cells.Select
Selection.Copy
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
:=False, Transpose:=False

However, I'm trying to get rid of the Select and Selection to this, and it's not working.
I cant seem to understand the concept of Select and Selection.

With Sheets("BurnDown")
   .Cells.Copy
   .Cells.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
      :=False, Transpose:=False
End With

although you would be better of with

With Sheets("BurnDown").UsedRange
   .Value = .Value
End With
