OK this worked for something simple now i need to get a little more technical.

My date "2345S1N399450000"

I need to make it look like this "23-45-S1-N3-994-5000"

Again I have a row of 1,000 entries that need to be changed to this format.

Thanks,

Chris

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
You either have an extra 0 in 2345S1N399450000 or you're missing a zero in 23-45-S1-N3-994-5000.

Either way, this should get you started:

=LEFT(A1,2)&"-"&MID(A1,3,2)&"-"&MID(A1,5,2)&"-"&MID(A1,7,2)&"-"&MID(A1,9,3)&"-"&RIGHT(A1,4)
