Dear All,
I have a question hope you can help me.
I am sailing with a ship to 10 different ports. From A to B and from B to C etc. etc. The list looks like the following image:
In a selection process I gained the following sailing schedule:
This means that for the distance between A and B, under 1 = 180Nm.
The distance between 1B and 2A (next port) = 323Nm.
When the schedule as described is followed I travelled: 180 + 323 + 6245 + 1542 + 6875 = 15165 Nm.
Each item ( Loading port, discharge port has specifications like the distance, expenses or revenues.
Actually it should be treated as a “Container” with specs and the sequence where the containers are positioned, defines the total travel time, total expenses or revenu.
Now a new “Container”, comes into the schedule with new specs. In our case the number 8.
The toal result will change as the ship will sail tot he loading port 1A to discharge port B. But from he is NOT sailing to 2A anymore he is sailing to 8A for loading and to 8B for discharge. Etc.
So now container 1 is talking to container 8, who is talking to container 2 and at the end we have a different result.
I have the following information:
- I know what each container contains for specs, POL, POD, Quantity, distance, exp. Rev.
- I know the distances between all possible combinations.
- I create a sequence by code, but the sequence will come from the list of ports i mentioned at the beginning. This list is dynamic and can change.
Means some cargoes will be added and some will be deleted. Everytime a change will happen, a new sequence will be created.
- After the sequence is created, we have to get the containers handshaking eachother and calculation should take place.
I know it is a mouthfull, but maybe one of you can help me.
