Leverage VBA code in Excel File

I found a piece of VBA code online that I'd like to repurpose. It creates data series labels to replace a legend on a line chart.
It just eliminates the need for the reader to move their eyes back and forth between the legend and the data series.
Finally, to my question…is there a way to easily take a block of VBA code, plug into an existing excel file, and get it to work?

Excel Facts

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
It all depends on the code. Some can be simply copied and pasted in and will run. Others are specific to certain sheets/objects in the original workbook and must be edited to point to various parts of your workbook.

How many charts, across how many sheets, are you talking about?

Post the sample code you found.
