Hi!

I wanted to use template wizard for my "saving information" needs. But some of its features doesn't satisfy me. So I want to write my own... Not that kind of visual interfaces of course. A simple and manual one.

But I can't find any information about how to write my data into another excel file. Is it that hard... Does the wizard accomplish the work by "windows programming" ways?

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
How about posting back witrh details about exactly what you are trying to accomplish...

I want to write any data into another workbook's particular cell. But the wizard can do this even that workbook is closed. But I can only do this when the book is open.

This is the basic but most important problem...

I have written a couple of these for people already. If you tell me what you need in terms of where new data needs to be added etc... (it could be that you have more than one database etc depending on the new data) I may be able to help.

My problem is not directly about "more than one database". I want to record some calculated values. But the wizard only uses real cells.

On the other hand I am more likely to face with a "more than one database" problem in the near future.

Finally thanks for the code in the link you posted. I'll analyze it.

Ok. I' ve examined your code. But it doesn't have anything about recording data into a closed file.

The template wizard have this feature and this advantage makes it a better alternative.
If only I knew how to make it myself...

Not sure I follow - the code is simple enough - you just need to make the database in an alternative file to the template - and then add that path into the Macro.
