Line Chart Query

Hi all,
this is probably a simple query, but i have a line chart with values that go from January to December. if there are no values for the 2nd half of the year, the Line shoots down to x axis. is there anyway of just stopping the line at the last month it has values in for? i know i could change the line range, but the data is coming from a pivot table and values are dynamic hence the last month of values will vary
