linear equation from exponential data

Group,

Maybe this is a question for MrMath but I will try here first. Data that I generate are logorithmic in nature (one axis linear the other axis exponential) when I plot the "trend line" on the graph it gives me the corresponding equation which is all good. If the y axis is put on a log scale then the line appears linear (even though it is not). My question is how can I use EXCEL to to calculate a linear equation (in the form y=mx + b) from data that is really exponential. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
