Linear interpolation with Excel

Hey guys,

how can I find the value of "i" within the formula below, with a linear interpolation in Excel?

...generate the concern that we're being asked to do homework, which isn't really what he board is for. To dispell that thought, care to give some info on what you've tried so far etc...

Oh sorry about that!

I just dont know where to start. I know I have to guess a range where the value can lie and then try to come closer to that value.

Is there any function in excel that can help? I heard about the "TREND" function...
