I have two worksheets.

I want to copy and paste/link something from one worksheet to another but, in worksheet A, the info I want is in every second column and in worksheet B, there is no columns in between.

Help - Excel beginner level.

Hi Ylona,

Here's my test data sheet A with row x column numbers as cell contents so it's easy to see where they originate.

Ylona.xlsx
ABCDEFGHI
11 x 11 x 21 x 31 x 41 x 51 x 61 x 71 x 8
22 x 12 x 22 x 32 x 42 x 52 x 62 x 72 x 8
33 x 13 x 23 x 33 x 43 x 53 x 63 x 73 x 8
44 x 14 x 24 x 34 x 44 x 54 x 64 x 74 x 8
55 x 15 x 25 x 35 x 45 x 55 x 65 x 75 x 8
66 x 16 x 26 x 36 x 46 x 56 x 66 x 76 x 8
77 x 17 x 27 x 37 x 47 x 57 x 67 x 77 x 8
88 x 18 x 28 x 38 x 48 x 58 x 68 x 78 x 8
99 x 19 x 29 x 39 x 49 x 59 x 69 x 79 x 8
1010 x 110 x 210 x 310 x 410 x 510 x 610 x 710 x 8

If you want links to column 2, 4, 6, etc then put this formula into cell A1 of worksheet B and copy across and down as many rows and columns as needed.

Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
A1:E11A1=IF(INDEX(A!$A$1:$ZZ$99999,ROW(),COLUMN()*2)="","",INDEX(A!$A$1:$ZZ$99999,ROW(),COLUMN()*2))

If you want column 1, 3, 5 etc then use this:

Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
A1:E11A1=IF(INDEX(A!$A$1:$ZZ$99999,ROW(),COLUMN()*2-1)="","",INDEX(A!$A$1:$ZZ$99999,ROW(),COLUMN()*2-1))
