Can anyone help me with the below code? I am looking at an excel sheet that someone created years ago in 1997, but does not work in 2003. There are some links and formula like the one below, can anyone tell me what it does?

=REUTER|IDN!'PNDS,MONROW 4,,39,13'

Someone said that it links to the Reuters system, but I don't think so, it looks like it looks at a spreadsheet am I correct

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December

No, I'd say it links to the Reuters system too.

Have you tried linking to the Reuters system yourself? I'd have thought there would be add-ins or such-like to get this to work. Will have an ask around here to see if anyone has any knowledge of the specifics.

thats what made me think that it was a s/s as I cannot see any add ins that would make this work, and as far as I know you could not link directly to Reuters, but I must be wrong!

I have had a look round and found some code that has been written in Microsoft Script? What does this do? I have only ever used VBA in excel :(
