Good day,

I realize that this is partly a Word question but it is partly an Excel question too.

I want to link a cell in Excel to a part of a sentence in Word. For example, I calculate a result in Excel; say I get $100. Then I switch to Word and want that result to appear as part of a sentence. For example:

"An analysis shows that the result is $100."

Obviously, if I change the analysis and the result becomes $110, then I want the text in Word to change to:

"An analysis shows that the result is $110."

automatically.

Does anybody know how to do this?

Thanks for your help,
Michael

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Hello,

Do a search in the Word Help file on 'linked objects, Microsoft Excel'. I tried it and found that the RTF selection works nice in the "As box".

PS. Make sure to Click Paste link in step 6.

Cut the cell in Excel, paste in Word;

Edit > Paste Special > Paste as Link (Unformatted Text).

The next time you open up Word, it will ask you if you want to update links. Say yes.
