Hi there, just wondering if it is possible to link a call (either word or number ) to a pattern.... I am trying to build up a ground profile which i have set out in a grid with the x axis being depth and y being along the ground. I then want to select clay for example from a drop down menu i created in validation and then it change the cell next to it to the fill pattern corresponding to clay. Is this possible. sorry for the rubbish explanation. Many thanks. Ross

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
