Hi all.

Hope you are well.

I need help linking two spreadsheets in Excel 2003 so that changes made on one spreadsheet are automatically updated on the corresponding spreadsheet.

Do i need to insert some complex formulas?

Would appreciate any help.

Best regards,

Najam

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.

place formula in sheet 1 cell A1 as = sheet2!d6
any change you make in cell D6 will be reflected in cell A1

I donot know if excel 2003 has any different format.

to link cells, just type an = sign and then click on the tab you want it linked and the cell. Resulting formula should look like this for linking Sheet 2 A1 to sheet 1 A1

Code:
=Sheet1!A1
