I'm having a little trouble with my Excel Pivot table, which links into Access. I hope someone out there can help!

I have a one-sheet Pivot Table which is linked to a query in Access. I created this using the "Get Data" function as per usual and the link works fine. However the problem arises when I want to use the same Pivot and link it to another Access database. The "Get Data" button does not allow me to change the database to which the data is picked up.

Can I get around this?

Thanks in advance

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
Zuvela,

This is not an Access problem, but an Excel problem. When I was writting code for a client about 7 or 8 years ago, Microsoft said there was no way around this. Even though Microsoft said this, I was able to write VBA code that allowed a user to link to a different Access database. I'm sorry but I have lost that code. I do remember it was NOT easy, as it took me 42 hours to complete.

If you have not asked this question already in the Excel forum, I would suggest you ask it there, as it really is an Excel problem.

Sorry I can't really help.

Thanks Vic
I've posted the same question in the Excel technical page and I hope someone can help. One would have thought that since Access and Excel was written by the same company that they'd be able to talk to each other better!

Many thanks for your help!
