Linking to other Excel files

I'm using excel 2000 and am wanting to link to a cell in another excel file. I'm using the following:

=[text.xls]Sheet1!$A$3

This works fine, but I'm wanting to store the file name in another cell so that I can change it easily. For example, if I store the name text.xls in cell A2, I thought I may be able to do something like:

=[A2]Sheet1!$A$3

or

=[ & A2 & ]Sheet1!$A$3

but none of these work. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this? I was trying to avoid having to find and replace each time I wanted to change it.

Thanks

Steve
