Hi All,
I have a workbook that lists my clients, the services they have and how much they pay. This is stored on a server with finance permissions. What I want to achieve is to have that same data (minus the financial element) available to my support staff with different network permissions. The idea is that when the finance file is updated it will update the support file as well.

What I have tried is going into Existing Connections, Browse for more links and linking the finance file to the support, which works brilliantly, because I can change the formatting, remove columns, etc in the support and still keep it updated. However when anyone else opens the support file, I get issues with the connections and permissions.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Try this first.
In your connection properties:

Change:
Mode=Share Deny Write
To:
Mode=Read

I'm a bit rusty on this, but do remember solving lockouts by changing this property in years past.
