links not working properly for me

Hi, all!

in Nate's post in the Hall of Fame
http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=183723

the two links are pointing to the same thread
although other references numbers

for most of the users the links let the page "jump" to the exact post
not for me: in my Internet Explorer the pages stay "on top" without scrolling-jumping to the relevant post

not big trouble for me, but perhaps somewhat confusing for newbies ?

kind regards,
Erik

Thanks for replying Oliver !

yes, version 6.0.2800.1106
SP1 and some updates

WINDOWS 98SE
SP2 is not available for me
at least can't find it

my workaround would be to create links using the "start=23" syntax instead of the postnumber

nevermind, I posted this question mainly to tell you the problem exists

best regards,
Erik

This is probably not related, but I recently switched to FireFox and I'll never go back to MSIE. Too much trouble. Firefox seems to work great (for me at least).

Hello,

Can you automate FireFox though? E.g.,

http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=180837&start=14

I.E. has been built to interface smoothly, e.g.,

http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.access.dataaccess.pages/msg/79ead9d457006331

And I reference Clint's post for a reason, it's safe to say that he's an expert (you don't have to take my word for it):

http://216.55.183.63/pdc2005/slides/OFF307_Covington.ppt

I'm not saying that FireFox is trash, I haven't used it, but to be fair, in my experience, I.E. is a nice piece of software. :)

Erik, not sure what the problem is... I've used that type of link before, but it hides the previous posts, perhaps not helping with the context of the thread...
