need some help. i have a folder with a spreadsheet and some tif drawings. the drawings are specific to a part number on the spreadsheet. i need to find a way to link the drawing to the part number on the spreadsheet. i know how to do it one at a time creating a hyperlink but i have over 200 drawings i need to link to the specific drawing. drawing name is the same as the part number on the spreadsheet. is there an easier way then doing it one at a time. i'm using Excel 2000. Help!!!!

Hi William

You can use the HYPERLINK function (I don't have xl2000 to test but I'm fail;ry sure it was present in xl2000) and then all you need is your folder location eg in A1 and then your part numbers in a list (say A3:A100), then you can link to them with the following formula (eg entered in B3:B100):

=HYPERLINK($A$1 & A3 & ".tif")

The above assumes that A1 contains the path in the format "C:\YourFolder\YourOtherFolder\" - don't omit the trailing slash "\". Also that the pciotures name is "PartNumber.tif" and the part number is given in the A column.
