I have created a list - Data validation, it works fine. However my problem is:

I want to add to the list and have the items show up in the existing list but can figure it out. Help me please

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
A very simple (if not slightly sloppy) method is to create your list in a dedicated column, i.e. Column A (nothing else in the column). In your data validation list range, use =$A:$A. As long as you enter new entries at the bottom of the list, it will keep building in your dropdown.

This is the offset example option:

=OFFSET(ListStart,0,0,COUNTA(Sheet1!$A:$A),)

Where ListStart is the named range for the first entry.

In your list validation box, use any range name, i.e. =myrange.

Create the myrange range, (in the Insert Name Define dialog, enter the offset formula as the range for myrange.

Hmm but this will cause a very long winded blank cells at the bottom of the drop list and will also allow any values in the cell that contains the drop list
