Thanks all, you guys are quick.
Your suggestions did work and didnt, It was my fault I wasnt more specific. So here is the long winded version. I am trying to create work sheet for a cost breakdown, I did this a while ago and I forgot some stuff.

under oils used these are all drop down lists, my list was created on page two under A1 through 16. as so:

Now I want to add more items below the last entery and have them show up in the lists on page 1. When I try to add and validate the amended list on page two it does not work. The validation list was made with =OILS.

Any suggestions besides get lost hahahahah.

The Named range OILS has to be enlarged to include the new entries.

You could do this with the DefineNames dialog, explictily typing in the new range after adding a new type of oil.

OR

if there is no data below the list of oils and no blank rows, you could use a dynamic Named Range.

Names can evaluate functions. In the DefineNames dialog, change it to

Name: OILS
RefersTo: =OFFSET(Sheet2!$A$1,0,0,COUNTA(Sheet2!$A:$A),1)

Note that as more entries are made, COUNTA increases, so the number of rows returned by the OFFSET increases. i.e. the named range OILS gets larger as more entries are made.

If your lay-out is different than the restrictions mentioned above, the formula can be tweeked to meet your situation.
