I need help getting started on creating a worksheet. I would like to create a worksheet where the user clicks in a column, say column M, and a list is displayed where a selection can be made between the choices, "clockwise" and "counter clockwise" but only when they click in a cell in column M. Once a section between the two is made the selection is displayed in the cell that was clicked on and the list that was just displyed is not longer visible. Would it be best to use a list box for this application? Any help with code would be super. THANKS!

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
  1. Just go to the cell in column M.
  2. From the menu pick Data | Validation...
  3. Click on the Allow: control and pick List
  4. A "Source" control will become visible. Simply type Clockwise, CounterClockwise into the textbox
  5. You can adjust other aspects like message and whether the user can only pick from this list (or if he can type in a different value) etc. using the rest of the dialog box.

Is there a way to make it possible to select more than one option from a list, for example by holding the ctrl button?

AFAIK, not with data validation. With listbox controls, yes, you can change the MultiSelect property to suit your needs, but you're going to need VBA to pull values. You may want to just put a "both" option in your list, if that would get you where you need to be.
