Local Intranet - Open Excel Hyperlinks with Local Excel

I have an IIS server with ASP.NET pages using VB code.

Is there a simple way to build the hyperlinks (to Excel files) so that they open with the users Local machine or Citrix App?

Right now, when a user clicks the link, it downloads it to a temp. folder on their computer, (which can take a while if large file), and opens it within the same browser window.

It would be ideal to bypass the download (similarly if they had clicked on a network link through Outlook), and their local application open the file.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
Probably wrong but I thought this was something the end user had to configure on their client ?

Pre Vista via File Types -> xl type(s) -> advanced - un-check browse in same window

I believe this functionality disappeared in Vista and you need to edit the registry direct - which you may or may not be able to do pending IT protocols
