Local Keyword

I have noticed that some example code on the MS website uses

On Local Error Goto Error_Handler

I cannot seem to find any documentation on the Local keyword, could anyone advise of it's use?

I did a google serach
"Excel use of Local command"
and got back several hits

Yes I also did several google searches with several hits but upon closer examintation of the articles I could not find any specific information. If you found a specifically helpful hit could you please post it?

I have to laugh that I spent a least an hour reading through various sites and articles before posting and then disvoered it is a just a legacy word that is functionally equivalant to not having the word at all. Oh well
