Locating a specific symbol in a string

Hi all

I want to be able to look for a comma or something inside a string and then return a true or false value depending if there is one present or not.
Can you help.

Ah, for VBA use the InStr function -

Sub y()
Dim i As Integer, s As String, c As Range
s = "x"
Set c = [a1]
i = InStr(c.Value, s)
MsgBox i
Set c = Nothing
End Sub
