Lock Checkbox

Hi

I have a checkbox on my worksheet, that is controlled by some vba using a button, in the below image the checkbox is validated.

Basically how this work is, an engineer fills in the form above these buttons, and when done they click validate form.

If all data is ok, the checkbox is ticked. This then allows them to click the Save Inpection report button.

However, at the moment the user can check this box manually. I dont want this to happen, I only want the vba in the button to be able to manipulate the checkbox. is this possible?

In the proprties of the checkbox, it has a Locked value of true, but when I protect the worksheet, it doesnt stop users from being able to manually check the box.

Have you tried the below?

ActiveSheet.CheckBoxes.Enabled = True 'User can check the box. Use whenever you need the checkbox unlocked.
ActiveSheet.CheckBoxes.Enabled = False 'User cannot check the box. Use whenever you need the checkbox locked.

I did actually achieve the same result when i Found in the properties enabled = true, I set this to false and it gives me the required effect.
