Lock columns G, H and I

I would like to lock columns G, H and I of a spreadsheet. What would be a good way to do it?

How can you turn a range sideways?
Copy the range. Select a blank cell. Right-click, Paste Special, then choose Transpose.
Highlight the entire worksheet.
Ctrl+1>Protection>uncheck locked.
Highlight your columns.
Ctrl+1>Protection>check locked.
Review>Protect Sheet.
