Locked for editing on Company Intranet

I have several macro-enabled (.xlsm) files which work well when opened from windows. However, when users open and attempt to use them from our company intranet, they get a "locked for editing" message, followed by a "cannot run the macro" message (because it is looking in the temporary directory on the pc which created it to run the macros) is there a way to work around this, short of posting the workbooks on shared network drives?

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
