Locking Drawn Objects

Good morning,

I've created standard forms in excel 2002, using the drawing objects. I would like to lock them with code so they cannot be manipulated by the users.

I can lock my command buttons, but not the rectangles, arrows, or inserted pictures. If any one could help me with the object code, I would be greatly appreciative.

Thank you very much in advance for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Benjamin

Hi Benjamin,
Don't know if it's the same with 2002 (I'm using 2000), but you can try right clicking on the object, choose Format AutoShape > Protection Tab and check the "Locked" checkbox.

Does this work with 2002?

Hi Dan,

Thank you very much for your reply. I need to protect each sheet in order to make the "Lock Object" functionality work. When I do it works as planned. So your answer is correct.

The reason for my desire to lock these objects on each page is to control what people do. My file is a training document that will be widely distributed to users or various levels, some of whom can be dangerous to apps without knowing it.

Thank you again for your help. Have a great day and safe and pleasant holiday's.

Sincerely,

Benjamin
