In episode #328 of Mr Excel podcast. Bill mentions how to lock the scroll area of a spread sheet. This works champion. However, I am unable to 'save' this feature, so that it is set at these values, whenever the spreadsheet is opened subsequently.

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Hi,

In episode #328 of Mr Excel podcast. Bill mentions how to lock the scroll area of a spread sheet. This works champion. However, I am unable to 'save' this feature, so that it is set at these values, whenever the spreadsheet is opened subsequently.

Unfortunately, ScrollArea is reset to "" (disabled) when workbook is closed. The same problem appears with XlEnableSelection property for protected worksheets. To overcome this you could add some code to Workbook_Open event which sets ScrollArea for all worksheets. You may combine it with hidding rows/colums and protecting worksheets :cool:

Something Like:

Code:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
Worksheets("Sheet1").ScrollArea = "$A$1:$A$2"
End Sub
