Greetings,

I am looking for the most in depth and advanced VBA text book on the market. Could you recommend any titles?

I am using Excel 2003. I am an experienced C++ programmer, so I do not want a beginner's text. I want EVERYTHING about VBA for Excel in one text.

Looking forward to your recommendations.

Thanks and regards,
Henning

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
Howdy & Welcome to the Board!

Since VBA is not Excel-specific, your requirement for the most advanced VBA book does not really tally with "Everything about VBA for Excel in one text". However, the best and most in-depth VBA book you will find is this one:

VBA Developer's Handbook

For Excel specific, then consider:

Professional Excel Development

and maybe:

Excel 2007 VBA Programmer's Reference

EDIT: Since you are using Excel 2003 the last book may not be entirely appropriate - there are other editions for the other versions of Excel but DON'T go for the 2003 edition (it was mauled to death by a new author and was utter sh*t). Go for the 2002 edition which was written by the same people as the 2007 one (and is very good).

Thanks for all who contributed. I have decided to buy VBA Developer's Handbook. I think that is the type of book that I was looking for. (Richard, thanks for your posting - it really pointed me in the right direction.)

I personally have found the VBA helpfile in Excel 2003 very dissapointing.

Thanks and regards,
Henning

I personally find it to be pretty helpful when used in conjuction with the Object Browser.

But, perhaps the book will be of help. Good hunting. :)
