Hi..

I wanted to know the formula for looking up a specific no in a range.

For ex: I want to find 20 when i have 3 ranges, 0-45, 45-90, 90-110 and i want excel to lookup 20 in the 0-45 range. Any idea if this is possible?

Thanks a lot for your co-operation and time..

### Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.

Hello,

Why LOOKUP, why not just

=IF(A1<46,"0-45",IF(A1<91,"45-90",IF(A1<111,"90-110","OTHER")))

Welcome to the Mr Excel board!

If the previous post is not what you want, please try to explain your problem more fully.

What do you mean by 'I want to look up 20 in the 0-45 range'? What output or result do you want to get and where do you want to put it? Exactlt what and where is the data that you have so far?

Investigate posting a small sample of your sheet to the board. To do so, see the link at the bottom of this page to Colo's HTML Maker. Also read the ‘Sticky’ titled: 'HTML Maker FAQ (How to show your sheet on the board)' which is at the top of this ‘Excel Questions’ forum. Test it out in the ‘Test Here’ forum which is found in the ‘MrExcel Message Board Forum Index’ before trying to use it in this forum.
